Have you ever had a perfectly good family vacation ruined by having to endure itchy red bites from mosquitoes?  Pesky mosquitoes cannot only be nuisances, but they can also carry very serious diseases like West Nile Virus and malaria.  You will most certainly want to protect your family and pets from mosquito bites, especially if you are on vacation and outdoors a lot.

There are many ways to protect yourself from mosquitoes.  You can either purchase netting, repellents, or mosquito catching machines to keep the insects away from you.  Netting is made of materials that the flying insects cannot pass through.  Repellents work by keeping bugs from finding your human scent.  Mosquito catching machines work in the opposite way by attracting the bugs to the machine and vacuuming them in.  You may also use a combination of all options.

If you live in an area that is heavily infested with mosquitoes, you will probably want to consult your neighbors and find out what sort of mosquito control they use.  If you have a lot of outdoor barbeques in your yard, you may also want to purchase citronella oil candles, which when burned will deter flying insects.
